Devon is committed to her family, profession and community. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, along with her two sisters, and daughter to a landscape architect and teacher, the lessons learned from her strong family unit are ingrained in who she is. Devon served over four years in the United States Air Force prior to completing her education at Florida Atlantic University. Values claimed by the Air Force were values that she recognized from her upbringing: Integrity, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. These values have served her well throughout her life and continue to contribute to her success on a daily basis. She currently resides west of Boca Raton with her husband and daughter.
Devon is a Manager in the Auditing and Accounting department at J.D. Gilbert & Company, CPAs and has been a member of the firm since 2008. With a passion for assisting clients find overall financial health and security, she provides additional value-added services to her audit, attest and accounting clients. Devon focuses primarily on performing audits and reviews, but also prepares information returns for all of her non-profit clients in addition to providing accounting and tax preparation for the firm’s clients. She particularly enjoys assisting small and mid-size businesses and non-profits with internal control and fraud prevention processes. Devon’s industry experience includes the following: not-for-profit, restaurants and bars, Housing of Urban Development multifamily projects, non-traditional lending, social clubs, distributors, and wholesalers. She is also a Qualified Peer Reviewer under the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Practice Monitoring Program; therefore she is able to participate in reviews and evaluations of other public accounting firms to ensure that they are complying with current professional standards. Prior to joining the firm, she spent time at both national and public accounting firms, servicing clients of varying sizes.
Devon serves on the board of director for the Atlantic chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a tax-exempt entity. While she supports the various functions of the chapter, specifically she is responsible for raising monies for college accounting scholarships through partnering with local business sponsors. Devon also sits on volunteer committees for two local non-profit entities, the Milagro Center and the Peter Blum Family YMCA of Boca Raton.
